Here is the first of three installments of people who were at our reunion June 13 who were not in the Class of '69 -- either from other classes or spouses, family or friends of our class. I probably missed a couple of people who were there, including my nephew John Ruel.

Since our wifes were both in Amarillo, we took this opportunity to spend some quality time on 6th Street in Austin. I have decided not to post the picture of leaving late.

Thanks to everyone who has posted photos to this blog and especially to Becky Shelton West, who with her parents, dug out some of the best pictures and some that most of us never had seen.
We did watch a slide show last Saturday at Thacker's house of all the photos that had been posted. We should have recorded the comments and all the laughs in reaction to the pictures!

We made it into today's McLean News (Thursday, June 18, 2009).

See you in McLean starting today!
* If you can, come to the spaghetti dinner at the Young at Heart building downtown (6 p.m.) and mingle on Main Street.
* Golfers, don't forget the scramble at 4 p.m.
* There also will be a chance to tour the new high school.
* Saturday will include a pancake breakfast, talent show, barbecue and in the afternoon, we'll go out to Thacker's house north of town.

John Reeves

Just got an e-mail from John Reeves, who was in our class for several years but moved away. He's been an assistant softball coach at the University of California for 16 years. Cal is a regular in the national NCAA softball tournament. John had thought about coming to the reunion but is too busy recruiting. His parents, Bill and Lynn Reeves, moved back to McLean several years ago. --Mike H.

Coach Schneider

Bob and Barbara (McCurley) Schneider and me after church today. Coach and Barbara are long time Canyon residents. Coach Schneider retired from coaching the WT girls basketball team a few years ago.
