Keep 'em coming

Nice photo of Pat, Nila and Sue below! And here's a reminder to keep posting old McLean photos and photos of yourselves and your families since 1969. In about a week, I'll try to put all the pictures up to that point into some kind of slideshow that we can watch at the June 12-13 reunion. --Mike H.

Wheeler wants a rematch!

Wheeler is also having their reunion the same weekend and have asked for a rematch. Don & Ron Reeves must not believe Thacker can run another kickoff back. By the way, Coach has no memory or knowledge now or 40 years ago about the origin of this document.

Darsey will not be blogging this weekend. He is working on an Emmaus Walk in Amarillo. For the weekend, he has set down his rope to help others work on their spiritual walk.

Golf scramble Friday, June 12

My sister, Sheri, asked me to post info about the McLean Lions Golf Tournament scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, June 12, at the McLean golf course. It'll be a scramble and will cost $5 per player.
It will be 9 holes, so golfers should finish in time for the spaghetti dinner at the Young at Heart building downtown, which I think is scheduled for 6 p.m.
To enter or for more info on the golf tournament, call Casper Smith at 806-779-2820.

2009 UIL Texas Tennis Tournament at Lakeway

Sherry Haynes and Nancy Castillo won the district tennis championships and second in regionals to qualify to play for state this week at Lakeway World of Tennis in Austin. Sherry is the daughter of David and Ginger Haynes of McLean. Here is photo prior to match looking onto center court with Davey and Ted Simmons.

My daughter, Melisssa, resides in Borger. She got her undergrad degree from Texas Tech in Human Development and her Masters from Wayland in Ministry. She is currently employed by Frank Phillips College as a librarian but fills the pulpit on many Sundays. She is also very active in Walk to Emmaus.
